Former Manitoba Liberal leader Jon Gerrard has received a lavish sendoff from his party.
Former prime minister Jean Chretien was on hand for last night's celebration in Winnipeg.
Gerrard ran the provincial party for 15 years until he stepped down last month.
Before that, he served under Chretien as secretary of state for science, research and development during his one term in Parliament in the 1990s.
Chretien lauded Gerrard for devoting 20 years to public life.
