Part of a large business sign fell onto the sidewalk, nearly hitting two people below.
The Sherbook Inn's sign fell down on Saturday evening.
Passersby said it nearly hit them but they were able to jump out of the way.
Hotel staff wouldn't comment on what happened, but they said the sign has been taken down and cleaned up.
Crews could be seen cleaning it up shortly after.
