A man died after a half-ton truck and a semi-truck crashed on Highway 8 north of Winnipeg in the RM of St. Andrews.
Emergency services got a call about a crash at the intersection of Highway 8 and Provincial Road 27 around 5:30 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, they found the 61-year-old driver of the half-ton truck, a man from the RM of St. Andrews, dead at the scene.
RCMP said the half-ton was driving north on Highway 8 when it hit the semi-truck, which was turning south from PR 27.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 50-year-old man from Ontario, wasn’t injured.
Police closed the intersection for about five hours while they investigated. They said alcohol wasn’t a factor and both drivers had their seatbelts on.
The investigation continues.
