Man found dead after skid steer falls through ice: Manitoba RCMP

A 58-year-old man is dead after a skid steer fell through the ice on a Manitoba pond on Christmas Eve.

According to the RCMP, the incident took place on Dec. 24 in the RM of Hanover when a skid steer was being used to clear snow off a frozen pond. Police note the skid steer went through the ice with the operator still inside of it.

The Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team were called in to help.

Later that day, a 58-year-old man’s body was recovered from the pond.
