Winnipeg police have issued a Canada wide warrant for a suspect wanted in connection with the stabbing death of a man at a downtown Winnipeg nightclub.

Police are looking for 25-year-old Gilbert John Jolicouer. He also goes by the name, "Fro."

Police believe he may be hiding in B.C. or Alberta, possibly in the Whistler, B.C., Fort McMurray, Alta., or White Court, Alta.

Jolicoeur is wanted for manslaughter in the death of Jeff Engen. Engen was stabbed to death at The Empire Cabaret in November, 2007.

Winnipeg police have already charged three men in the death with manslaughter, including former Hells Angel Billy Bowden. Also charged are Joel Braund, 24, and Matthew Wegier, 32.

Bowden, 32, was arrested on an unrelated warrant in Whistler, B.C. There had been a Canada-wide warrant for his arrest after he skipped out on a scheduled court date.

Police say Gilbert John Jolicoeur is the only suspect still on the loose.

If you have any information that could help in the investigation, you're asked to call police.

The stabbing was one of several violent incidents that led to the creation of a committee led by the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission into safety at bars and nightclubs.

Under its recommendations, the MLCC could soon have more power to conduct safety evaluations and ultimately close bars and nightclubs.
