Manitoba birth and adoption records will be unsealed today.
As of today, all adoptees over the age of 18 will be able to apply to find out the names of their birth parents.
Birth parents can also request their children's identity.
Both sides can still file requests to keep their information sealed.
Adoptees and birth parents will also be able to file 'contact preferences' outlining how they'd like to be reached.
