Police searching for high-risk sex offenders

UPDATE: Joseph Sanderson has been arrested without incident and remains in police custody, RCMP said in a release on Oct. 13.

Manitoba RCMP are asking for the public’s help in finding two high-risk sex offenders.

Police said Ernest Joseph Laquette, 58, has outstanding warrants for two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Police said he has ties to the Birch River area, about 40 kilometres north of Swan River.

Police are also searching for 23-year-old Joseph Edward Sanderson.

Officials said he also has outstanding warrants for two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

Police said he has ties to the Poplar River area.

Anyone with information on either man’s whereabouts is asked to call the Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit at 204-984-1888, the Winnipeg Police Service at 204-986-6222, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
