The frontrunner in the race to become Winnipeg's next mayor said she isn't taking anything for granted.
A CTV/Winnipeg Free Press poll released on Oct. 3 shows Judy Wasylycia-Leis with a commanding lead with 41 per cent of decided voters saying they would cast a ballot for the former NDP MP and MLA.
While encouraged by the results, Wasylycia-Leis says this is just a snapshot in time, cautioning things can change rapidly in politics.
The poll puts Brian Bowman in second place at 23 per cent, now pulling away from Gord Steeves at 16 per cent.
Bowman said he is inspired by the numbers but knows he has a lot of work to do to catch Wasylycia-Leis.
Steeves cancelled a noon announcement Friday. He was not available for comment, but his team said the campaign is operating business as usual.
Weeks ago, Steeves suggested Bowman should drop out of the race to give one right-wing candidate a shot at defeating Wasylycia-Leis.
Bowman said Friday it might be time for Steeves to look at his own words.
