The Provencher riding is situated in the southeast corner of Manitoba and includes Steinbach, Emerson, Niverville and a section of Winnipeg suburbs. Conservative Ted Falk will seek re-election after winning his seat in a 2013 byelection.

Last Election
In a 2013 byelection, Conservative Ted Falk won over Liberal Terry Hayward with a 6,300 vote lead. Both are running again in this election.
The byelection was called when Vic Toews of Alliance, who had served since 2000, announced his retirement.
History
- Métis leader Louis Riel won an 1873 byelection here and held it in 1874 until he was declared an outlaw.
- It was held four terms by Liberal René Jutras until he lost in 1957 to Tory Warner Jorgenson.
- The PC held the riding until 1968, when he lost to Liberal Mark Smerchanski.
- Then it was a long-serving Tory, Jake Epp, who held the seat from 1972 to when he retired in 1993.
- Liberal David Iftody won then, and in 1997, but lost in 2000 to Vic Toews of Alliance.
- Toews held the seat until his retirement in 2013.
- A byelection that year was won by Conservative Ted Falk.
Boundaries
- The southeast corner with Ontario to the east; the U.S. to the south.
- In its northwest are Winnipeg suburbs including Springfield RM.
- In the west is Ritchot RM with separate Niverville.
- The southwest has Emerson and Steinbach.
- The centre has Reynolds and the northeast Whitemouth RM.
Industries
- Includes Maple Leaf, GORP power food bars and light industry.
- Market crops are grown near Winnipeg and berries of all types throughout the riding.
- In the northwest are some farms, housing and Kitchen Craft cabinet makers.
- The southwest has a busy border point and in the west centre are fertile grain lands and large pig, poultry and dairy operations.
- Also includes industry such as Barkman pre-cast concrete, Mid-Canada Millwork, Loewen Windows and Biovail and a campus of Red River College.
