Officials announced fees will be waived for entry to Manitoba’s provincial parks from July 19 through July 21.
The move is being held to mark Canada’s Parks Day on July 20.
"To encourage more people to visit and explore our parks, we are celebrating Canada's Parks Day with free entry to all provincial parks this weekend. We're offering a variety of fun and educational events that will interest people of all ages,” said Gord Mackintosh, minister of conservation and water stewardship, in a statement.
Activities on July 20 include a campfire talk on the history of Birds Hill Park at 8:30 p.m., a guided walk of Hecla Village at 3 p.m., an interpretive guided tour of historic homes in St. Norbert at 1 p.m. and an interpretive amphitheatre presentation at Grand Beach at 9 p.m., among other events.
"Manitoba parks are among the greatest natural resources we have," said Mackintosh.
