The Toys for the North project will deliver toys to children living in remote Manitoba communities this month.

The project, a partnership between the Canadian Toy Association, Toronto Zoo and RCMP, has also drawn support from the public and private businesses.

This marks the fourth year for the program. RCMP said they’ve seen growth in the program each year.

The Royal Canadian Air Force supplied a Hercules aircraft to ship the toys to Winnipeg from Toronto.

More than 4,000 pounds of toys, along with items such as winter wear and diapers, will be handed out through RCMP detachments and the MKO Santa Express.
