Three weeks into the campaign, rural roads are challenging Winnipeg’s streets for the highest spot of dishonour in CAA Manitoba’s annual search for the worst roads in the province.
The roads currently holding the top three spots are Main Street in Carman, PR 353 in Brookdale and PR 280, respectively.
Other rural roads are also gaining ground on the top spots, including PR 251 in Goodlands, PR 450 near Boissevain and First Street in Winkler.
CAA Manitoba is citing potholes as a major issue with Manitoba roads, but a spokesperson also says lack of cycling lanes, congested commutes, poor signage and safety are also reasons roads can be nominated.
With two weeks left in the campaign, CAA Manitoba has already received close to 4,000 votes for 450 roads.
Votes are being accepted until April 6. You can vote online at caamanitoba.com/worstroads.
