A low heading east from Alberta will affect most of Manitoba today and tonight, one way or another.
Here in the south, strong south winds in the warm sector are sending temperatures into the low to mid-20s this afternoon. That's well above the normal midteen highs for this time of year for the region.
Meanwhile, the low will spread rain across the north starting in the northwest this afternoon then spreading eastward tonight. Look for rain to continue into Saturday afternoon. Rainfall amounts between 10 and 30 mm are possible.
The low's trailing cold front is in Saskatchewan this afternoon. It will move across Manitoba tonight. And as it does, it could fire off thunderstorms including in Winnipeg overnight.
Friday will be a beautiful fall day in the city with sunshine, light winds and a daytime high in the mid-20s.
Things could take a turn for the weekend, though. There is the possibility of rain or showers on Saturday and Sunday.
