Winnipeg soccer star Desiree Scott has been busy getting ready for the Canadian women's game against the U.S. on Thursday at Investors Group Field. While back in her home city, she's also helping raise money for some young athletes to reach their sports dreams.

A long line formed as Scott, also known as The Destroyer, sold her signature T-shirts at the Garden City Community Centre. For each shirt sold, $2 goes to KidSport, a group that helps kids succeed in sports.

Scott says they helped her and she wants to give back.

"I think it's unreal, little unexpected to see the lineup. I’ve been here for an hour already and it hasn’t stopped.” she said. “That’s very awesome that people are coming in to support the national team and myself."

Fans who showed up were also treated to some autographs on their soccer balls and clothing.
