Amid the controversy over his wife’s Facebook remarks four years ago, Gord Steeves attempted to make a campaign announcement Tuesday.
The mayoral candidate is pledging to make it easier to get a permit if elected by cutting more red tape.
Steeves said he would eliminate what he calls nuisance zoning bylaws that trigger public hearings.
He said that would reduce the number of variances required by 70 per cent.
