The Winnipeg Police Service has arrested Haben Nipsey Weldekidan, 22, after a shooting on Hazel Dell Avenue by Henderson Highway around 4 a.m. Sunday morning.
Police say a group of people were at a home, when an argument outside escalated.
According to police, a suspect discharged a firearm, striking three people.
The three victims were sent to hospital with serious injuries.
Neighbours heard the commotion in the early morning hours.
“A combination of a crashing glass maybe or a ramming of a door," said neighbour Ed Sutton.
The noise woke Sutton, who had fallen asleep watching television.
“Well it was around 2:30, 3 o'clock, we heard a series of loud crashing bangs and then it ceased and then it started up again," he said.
Multiple people in the neighbourhood reported hearing loud bangs. Several believed they were gun shots.
One man said he saw people leaving the area right after he heard the bangs.
Neighbours said police arrived on scene between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m.

The forensics team and identification unit were also called to Hazel Dell Avenue.
Officers examined two damaged cars behind a business on Henderson Highway.
Georgina Knight and her teenage son live nearby, and heard three loud bangs early Sunday morning.
"My son thought I had fallen out of bed or something so he came up, but it came from outside," said Knight.
She initially thought that the noises were firecrackers, but realized they may have been shots when police knocked on her door at 5 a.m.
"There's often firecrackers going off in the neighbourhood. But it was three, one right after the other,” said Knight.
