Officers arrested two suspects following a 30-minute-long pursuit that started in Fort Richmond early Friday.

Just before 2 a.m., police spotted a group of people inside a vehicle near Pembina Highway and Killarney Avenue. The vehicle fled from officers.

Officers tried repeatedly to stop the vehicle, including using a tire-deflation device.

The car, however, continued onto railway tracks while fleeing from police.

The vehicle was later found abandoned near Breton Bay in the Royal Wood area.

Suspects fled on foot. Officers, including members of the canine unit, tracked them down in a backyard on Southside Drive.

The 20-year-old male driver of the vehicle and a 16-year-old passenger face multiple charges, including assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and flight from police officers, along with multiple Highway Traffic Act offences.
