Target Canada owes more than a dozen Manitoba businesses, suppliers and municipalities almost $3 million.
The retail company has bills outstanding with 11 local businesses, the City of Winnipeg and province reaching $2.8 million.
Nearly two weeks ago, Target Canada announced it was closing all 133 Canadian locations, including four in Winnipeg and one in Brandon.
The department store owes $5 billion to a long list of companies, suppliers and municipalities around Canada.
Winnipeg-based Bison Transport is listed with an outstanding bill of $846,216 and Target Canada also owes another local transport service, Transx Ltd., $455,016.
Other local business owed money include Old Dutch Foods, Nygard International and the City of Winnipeg.
Details of how Target intends to pay its creditors are not expected until mid-February. A bankruptcy filing freezes out creditors from collecting until a judge approves a repayment plan.
A full list of creditors is available online from Alvarez & Marsal, a company that provides support to organizations facing financial restructuring.
