As residential streets were cleared this past week, thousands of tickets were also handed out.

The residential parking ban came into effect Wednesday, which was to prevent people from parking in specific zones while streets were cleared of snow.

The ban ended on Saturday.

During that time, the city issued 3,631 tickets to vehicles that remained parked.

Usually, the city has a combination of ticketing and towing vehicles to nearby streets. That wasn’t the case this time around.

“Our process of securing a towing service contract for residential streets was delayed; there was no towing during the ban,” the city said in an email.

The city said there will be towing services ready for the next residential parking ban.
