A corrections officer at a “youth custody facility” has been arrested following a number of sexual assaults against a youth.

Police said investigators learned the officer, who was working as a juvenile counsellor, started a relationship with one of the youths who was incarcerated.

Police said the relationship led to multiple sexual assaults and eventually staff learned what was happening and called police.

On Dec. 21, a 26-year-old woman was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual exploitation.

She was released with conditions saying she can’t be around anyone under 18.

None of the charges have been tested in court.
