Police have arrested teenage suspects following a fire that destroyed the RCMP’s community office in St. Theresa Point in northeastern Manitoba on July 21.
A blaze tore through the office around 4 a.m. Sunday.
A band constable in the area notified Island Lake RCMP about the office being engulfed in flames. Fire crews battled the blaze but were unable to save the building from being consumed. The structure is considered a total loss, said RCMP.
No one was inside the building at the time.
On Tuesday, RCMP announced two 14-year-old males are charged with break and enter with intent and arson.
A damage estimate for the building has not yet been determined. RCMP said the loss of other police assets in the fire is pegged at $20,000.
