A 60-year-old woman driving to work was attacked by a man with a knife Wednesday morning.

It happened while she was stopped at the intersection of Burrows Avenue and Arlington Street.

Police say the suspect came in her vehicle through the passenger door and tried to pull her out.

She was buckled in, and he was not able to get her out of the car.

Police say during the struggle she threw her hot coffee on him, and honked the horn. That scared him off - but not before he cut her hand.

The woman was treated for the cut.

Police say the suspect is described as:

  •  Male
  •  Aboriginal in appearance
  •  Approximately 5'7" - 5'8" in height
  •  Having a thin build
  •  Having short black hair
  •  Wearing a black shirt and pants with a black baseball cap

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
