City of Winnipeg officials said the Arlington Street Overpass over the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks will close to traffic starting at 6 a.m. on July 15 for repairs.

The bridge will remain closed through July and August, re-opening on Saturday, Aug. 31.

City officials said the work involves structural steel repairs, a deck overlay and maintenance.

The east sidewalk will stay open for pedestrian traffic.

Drivers are asked to allow for extra travel time and use alternate routes, such as the McPhillips Street Underpass and Slaw Rebchuk Bridge.
