The City of Winnipeg closed a block of Arlington Street Thursday evening to repair a sinkhole.
All northbound and southbound lanes of Arlington were temporarily closed between Ellice Avenue and Sargent Avenue as city crews work to fix the hole.
Construction workers on scene told CTV the city received reports the road was soft in the area, so crews were called to open up the pavement and make repairs.
The city asks drivers to use alternate routes and bus riders to check Winnipeg Transit’s schedule as buses will be rerouted.
The city did not provide an estimated timeline when Arlington may reopen to traffic.
Riverton Avenue was also closed from Grey to Gateway because of a large sinkhole.
