Officers released details an attempted child abduction case in Winnipeg on Wednesday.

Police responded shortly before 9 a.m. on March 19 to the Arbuthnot Street and Warsaw Avenue area.

An 11-year-old girl had been walking to school when an unknown male grabbed her and tried to pull her down Arbuthnot, said police.

The suspect never spoke to the girl and she was able to break free and run home. Officers were then called.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 50 to 60 years old, short and with a small build and mole on his face. He was wearing blue jeans, a black jacket, maroon toque with pompom and a scarf around his mouth.
