Winnipeg police said the body found in the river Friday morning was that of a missing teen.
Family confirmed to CTV the identity of the boy as16-year-old Jeremy Malish David.
Officers said the body was spotted around 9:30 a.m. near St. John's Park The Winnipeg Police Service's river patrol and water rescue team have been searching for a missing 16-year-old boy since Tuesday.
A witness said he was swimming in the river when he disappeared.
Drag The Red volunteer Darryl Contois said the group was out in its boat helping in the search for the missing teenager Friday morning when he saw the body.
Contois said the body was male, but wouldn't speculate on the person's age.
He said they called police.

Police have now confirmed the body found was that of a missing teen.
