The Winnipeg Blue Bombers coaching staff has returned to Winnipeg after wrapping their mini-camp in Florida this week.

The three-day training session gave the coaches a good look at what they will have to work with this season.

"Very high-level of talent by the time these guys were there, we'd seen them several times already, so you keep on paring down and paring down until you get a very talented group, with generally I'd say a high football IQ and high character," said Head Coach Mike O'Shea.

The Blue Bombers have named Drew Willyas their number-one quarterback, but the coach says they have a number of good pivots waiting in the wings.

"Robert Marve was throwing deep balls. There were good decisions by other quarterbacks. Drew Willy had a very high completion percentage in certain drills," said O’Shea.

"Each one of those quarterbacks showed us things that were extremely positive and by the end of the fifth practice, the decision making, how quick their reads were, their footwork, everything had just been raised a bunch of levels.  To me, that's very positive."

The Bombers are still deciding on a roster for main camp.
