RCMP in Brandon are investigating a sexual assault they believe took place in an open rural area about 5 kilometres west of the city.
According to a release, a 26-year-old Brandon woman flagged down a passing motorist on a rural road around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
RCMP said the woman had obvious injuries and showed indications of being sexually assaulted.
She was taken to hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
