Firefighters responded to a car fire in Winnipeg's North End early Tuesday morning outside an autobody shop.

Emergency crews were called to the fire around 7:45 a.m. A vehicle was burning near Dufferin Avenue and Salter Street.

The flames caused severe damage to the vehicle and melted a sign on the outside of the building. Firefighters say there was no damage to the interior of the building.

No one was injured. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Fire officials said extra caution was used to battle the blaze because of the unknown chemicals inside the business.
