Emergency crews were on the scene of a West End fire early Wednesday morning that caused $120,000 in damage, said officials.

Firefighters were called to a house at the corner of Spence Street and Cumberland Avenue around 4:15 a.m.

Police said the home was undergoing renovations and was vacant at the time of the blaze. Fire damage was sustained in the basement and on the main floor, with smoke and water damage throughout, said an official.

Police evacuated a home next to it as a precaution.

It’s not yet known what sparked the flames.

Officials also reported a fire to a commercial business on Isabel Street just before 5 a.m. that caused about $500 in damage.
