Dauphin RCMP are investigating after a 73-year-old man was assaulted by a man he invited into his own home.

Police say the Dauphin resident had recently met the man and had him to his house Dec.13. The man attacked the 73-year-old and left with some of his money.

The suspect is a 40 to 50-year-old white male. He said his first name was Morris.

RCMP say the suspect was driving a pick-up truck with polar bear license plates. The Northwest Territories and Nunavut both have polar bear-shaped plates, or bears on the plates.
