Power was out to much of the downtown overnight Thursday due to an underground electrical fire, said police.
Around 10:40 p.m., police said a fire at Golden Terrace Restaurant on King Street caused an explosion that blew a manhole cover right off.
As a result, Manitoba Hydro cut power from Broadway to Higgins and Main to Colony. Traffic and street lights were down for a few hours.
No injuries were reported. Damages are unknown. The cause is unknown.
