Thick black smoke was seen high above an apartment building on Bannatyne Avenue Sunday around noon.
The fire chief said crews arrived to fnd fire on every floor. The stairs to the fourth floor were burned and crews could not fight the flames from inside. Firefighters atop of ladders were seen dousing the fire from above.
The chief said police called in the fire after seeing smoke coming from the building.
Neighbours told CTV News the building, located west of the Exchange District, was vacant.
The building on fire appears to be same one from The Guess Who album 'So long, Bannatyne.'
