Smoke from forest fires in northern Manitoba prompted Environment Canada to issue a special air quality statement Sunday.
Extensive smoke from forest fires blanketed a large portion of extreme northern Manitoba, including Tadoule Lake, Shamattawa, Churchill and York Factory, officials said.
Visibility will be restricted at times.
Air quality and reduced visibility will be most pronounced at night, then ease during the day, according to Environment Canada.
The smoke should hang around in the air for several days.
