Funding for Plessis underpass possibly in jeopardy as city seeks another extension

The City of Winnipeg is asking for another deadline extension for the Plessis underpass project, possibly putting millions of dollars of funding in jeopardy.

It’s asking the province and Ottawa to push the completion date by a year to March 2017.

The cost of the $77 million project is being shared with the other levels of government.

They must agree to the extension. If not, they could pull their funding.
