Braden Pettinger’s road to recovery is looking positive after a house built in his name was sold, and a video showing the hockey player gaining more mobility was posted online.

The First Steps Wellness Centre has been helping Pettinger after the Portage Terriers player was paralyzed in a game on Nov. 12, 2015.

In a video posted to the centre’s Facebook page, Pettinger is pushing a spin bike with his legs.

“He's been at First Steps for the last few weeks and is working hard on nervous system recruitment, core, upper body strengthening, FES, gait training, and here he is propelling the spin bike with only assistance to keep his legs straight,” the centre said in the post.

Pettinger’s family has also been working to help him with his recovery.

A house Pettinger’s cousin and uncle began building near Elgin in March to fundraise for Pettinger has been sold.

The house sold for more than $100,000, and all of that money will go toward his family to help with Pettinger’s recovery effort.
