The Canadian Taxpayers Federation and the Winnipeg Labour Council want Winnipeggers to pick up the phone and take your city councillors to task.
"The police headquarters is about $75 million over budget. It's probably the worst example of cost overruns in the City of Winnipeg's history,” said Colin Craig, prairie director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
The two groups are pushing for an audit of the new Winnipeg police headquarters.
Craig and Dave Sauer, president of the Winnipeg Labour Council, stood at the corner of St. Mary's Road and Smith Street in downtown Winnipeg Monday morning, urging Winnipeggers to contact city councillors and encourage them to vote in favour of an audit.
