A man was arrested after shots were fired in an Elmwood home, said police.

According to a news release, the incident happened Wednesday at around 1:15 a.m.

Police said they went to a home in the 600 block of Union Street East after reports of a man shooting a gun.

Numerous people fled the home after the shots were fired, said police.

Members of the tactical support team and the East District general patrol units secured the area. Officers were able to gain access to the home after about 45 minutes without incident.

There were no injuries.

Police said they found an air rifle in the home. A 20-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

He faces a slew of weapon-related charges, including possession of a weapon and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner.
