A confrontation behind a Magnus Avenue residence ended with one of the residents getting shot, police said.

The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. on Jan. 30. A man who lives in a residence in the 600 block of Magnus Avenue went outside to yell at a group of males who had been causing a disturbance, police said in a news release.

One of the males pushed past the victim, trying to get away from the group. A gun went off in the direction of the victim as he was closing the door to his residence, hitting him in the upper body, police said.

The suspects fled and police were called. Paramedics took the victim to hospital and he is in stable condition, police said.
