Another speeding ticket has been tossed out by a Manitoba judge because of a backlog in the system.

Last week Kevin Yaworski’s school zone infraction was quashed because he had to wait more than 18 months to go to trial.

The judge ruled the delay for the matter was not justified and unreasonable.

Yaworski was accused of going 53 kilometres per hour in a 30 km/ h school zone in St. Vital. The judge was also critical of the Crown for not handing over evidence in a timely matter.

The province is currently appealing a similar case from May. That same month another driver had his speeding ticket set aside for similar reasons.
