According to a new national study, Manitoba has the longest emergency room wait times in the country.

The Canadian Institute for Health information measured the time between when someone checks into the emergency room to the time they’re discharged or transferred to an inpatient bed.

The median time spent in Manitoba ERs was about four hours, compared to a national average of 2.5 hours.

Nine out of 10 ER visits in Manitoba are completed within 13 hours, while nationally the average is 7.5 hours.
