Manitoba pharmacists and Winnipeg police want to remind Manitobans that they can return unwanted and expired medications as part of National Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day on Saturday.

The day serves as a reminder of the Manitoba Medication Return Program, which allows anyone to take unused medication to pharmacies, where they can be safely disposed of.

This reduces the risk of abuse or accidental ingestion.

The program is available all year.
