Winnipeg police are investigating the death of a man found along the banks of the Red River Friday.
An off-duty police officer called discovered the body near the water’s edge in the areas of Lombard Avenue and Waterfront Drive around 5:30 p.m.
Police have not determined the cause of death and an autopsy is pending.
The homicide unit has been notified, but they are not yet investigating.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
