The province and city announced the arrival of the Snow Angels program in Winnipeg Wednesday.

It connects volunteer snow shovellers with the elderly or people with disabilities who may have difficulty clearing their front walk.

Now, the province and city are calling for volunteers to participate. They're asking citizens to keep an eye out for those in need and help shovel as needed.

The program is funded by a $10,000 contribution from the province to the city.

Snow Angel programs already exist in Calgary, Edmonton and Coquitlam.
