One person is dead following a fiery collision at the intersection of Highway 5 and Highway 1, Sunday evening.
Carberry RCMP responded to reports of the serious collision around 8:30 p.m., about 170 kilometres west of Winnipeg.
RCMP said a vehicle was heading northbound on Highway 5, when it attempted to cross Highway 1, and struck a semi.
That is when the vehicle ignited and its driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Karra Knol lives in Carberry and she saw black plume of smoke to billowing from town.
Knol said fire crews were on scene.

RCMP said the cause of the crash is under investigation and the identification of the driver of the vehicle is pending.
They said driver of the semi was not injured.
STARS responded to a call in the Carberry area Sunday evening but said they were stood down en route before reaching the scene.
