Police divers have found the body of a 17-year-old Bible camp counsellor who drowned in a western Manitoba river.
The teen from Split Lake had been reported missing on Tuesday evening from the Steeprock Bible Camp near Lake Winnipegosis.
Witnesses saw him swimming to a floating dock on the Bell River near the lake shore, but he disappeared and did not surface.
Camp officials said that there was a public swim just before supper, with about 75 people in and around the water, but somehow people lost track of the teen.
The boy was working as a cabin leader at the camp, about 400 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
