After months of investigating, police laid charges against a suspect wanted in connection with a double homicide in Winnipeg in September.

Officers found Unice Ophelia Crow, 19, and Trevor James Sinclair, 31, dead in a suite in the 200 block of Chestnut Street on Sept. 4, 2013.

Police said cause of death was multiple stab wounds to their upper bodies.

Homicide and forensic units launched an investigation, which led to a warrant being issued.

On Feb. 5, 2014, the Regina Police Service arrested Jeffrey James Kionke, 44, of Regina, Sask.

Members of the homicide unit transported Kionke back to Winnipeg.

He is being held in the remand centre and faces charges for two counts of second-degree murder, said Winnipeg police.
