The City of Winnipeg is hoping to raise more revenue by selling the naming rights for public pools, libraries and events.

A new report recommends the city CAO be given authority to green light sponsorships for all deals under $200,000.

It said this will speed up the process that has been hampered over the years with revenue dropping.

The report estimates, with costs included, the city could net $3.4 million over five years.

The dollar amount does not include current contracts.
