A proposed dermatology clinic for Academy Road is getting under people’s skin.

Dozens of residents living near the planned site have stood up against the proposal.

The project would see a two-storey building constructed on the corner of Academy and Lindsay Street.

One floor would house the medical clinic and the other office space.

People and businesses in the area against the plan say the clinic will bring up to 90 vehicles into the area daily causing parking problems and traffic jams.

They also say the building is too large and doesn’t fit with the character of Academy Road.

On the flip side dozens of people have also signed a petition in support of the clinic.

A city committee has already voted down the proposal but the project is still alive as a higher committee is set to hear from all sides again Tuesday.
