A 12-year-old girl has come forward saying she was approached by an unknown man after reports of a similar incident came out earlier this week, police said.

On Monday, the girl was in the area of Higgins Avenue and Main Street around 4:30 p.m. when the man approached her in a vehicle and offered her a ride. She didn’t answer and ran to notify a parent, police said.

Earlier that day, a seven-year-old boy was walking in the area of Euclid Avenue and Hallet Street around 12:35 p.m. when a man approached him offering money, police said.

No contact was made. The boy ran back to his school and reported the incident.

Police said the suspect and vehicle descriptions in both cases are similar. They’re looking for a black man, 40 to 45 years old, with medium-length black hair which he continually brushed out of his eyes, a moustache, wearing a black hoodie. His drove a black truck with dirty tires and an open box that appeared newer.
